ottoman & headboard

Two new additions this weekend:

The MacGyver Ottoman

Headboard and bedskirt (I tried to take this photo from an angle that didn't show off the muddy pawprints on the duvet, apparently there isn't one!)

Current works in progress: curtains and pillows!

a very productive weekend

So, I almost finished my to do list this weekend! Well, I'm going to say that I technically did, since I did a lot that wasn't on the list (unpack and organize the workshop for 4 hours!).

Some of the items crossed off were:

New curtains for bedroom and theatre room:

Finish downstairs bathroom:

This wasn't part of the list, but Maui's room, now that she's not allowed on any of the other furniture!:

I also made plans for a wonderful velvet covered ottoman for the living room, and an upholstered headboard for the bedroom. It's going to be a busy couple of weeks!

new furniture!

Finally, we don't need to sit on camping chairs anymore to watch TV! I was torn about actually paying for couches, after having a 10 year run of free ones (let's see, the futon that you could feel the slats through the matress, the awful shiny black speckled sofa that "folded out" but was really just a mat on the floor, the infamous brothel couch, Roger's parents THREE hand me downs, and finally the ultimate 70s orange and brown scratchy sofa), but we figured with the whole house being new, we could splurge. But, we got a REALLY good deal on the leather set, so it wasn't really splurging that much.
Funny story, the paint colour of our trim throughout the house is called "leather", but the paint itself is so rich, you have to pronounce it "leatha". So here are our new leatha couches :)

The home theatre sofa:

The dining room set from Ikea:
